The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a New York State Medicaid program that allows people to choose, hire, and manage their own caregivers. In many cases, caregivers can be trusted family members or close friends. Regency helps patients and families navigate the CDPAP process from start to finish.
To qualify for CDPAP, the patient must be eligible for New York State Medicaid, need assistance with daily activities, and be able to self-direct their care or have a designated representative who can direct care on their behalf.
If you are not sure whether you qualify for Medicaid, see “What Is Medicaid Planning?” for help getting started.
